All first years are registered for the compulsory module
AGLA/E 121, which has a reading component.
The reading component is done in the reading lab in
Building 9A, G20
RDL operating hours:
First Semester operating hours:Mondays to Fridays: 08:00 – 16:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 12:00
Second Semester operating hours:
Mondays to Fridays: 08:00 – 20:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 16:00
Two reading programmes are used, Academix and Read On.
Afrikaans students read Academix and
English students use Read On.
All first year students should start with their reading in the first semester. Please do not leave this until the last minute as the reading takes quite a bit of time to complete. The lab will be open until mid-October and there are always friendly Reading Lab Assistants who will help you.
